X Marks The Spot

The Great American Solar Eclipse on April 8th, a significant event as it’s the second major solar eclipse in North America almost seven years, after the last one in August 2017.

The two eclipse’s path form an ‘X’ across the United States, wondering if God is showing us something.

The paths of the 2017 and 2024 solar eclipses intersect, creating an X over Cedar Lake in Southern Illinois, a reservoir formed by the convergence of Cedar Creek and the Big Muddy River.

This celestial crossroad at this one location, Cedar Lake beckons us to uncover the biblical meaning of ‘Cedar’ and its significance.

Cedar in The Bible

The cedar tree in the Bible represents royalty, strength, durability, beauty, and divine protection.

Its height and commanding appearance are a testament to its unwavering strength and magnificence. Using cedar in constructing temples and palaces highlights its significance and value.

Ezekiel 17:3-5 ESV delves into this symbolism: “Thus says the Lord God: A great eagle with great wings and long pinions, rich in plumage of many colors, came to Lebanon and took the top of the cedar. 4 He broke off the topmost of its young twigs and carried it to a land of trade and set it in a city of merchants. 5 Then he took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fertile soil. He placed it beside abundant waters. He set it like a willow twig.”

This passage might reflect the formation of America, a nation marked by diversity and thriving commerce.

And the appearance of another cedar passage is below:

Jeremiah 22:23 provides a cautionary tone: ‘O inhabitant of Lebanon, nested among the cedars, how you will be pitied when pangs come upon you, pain as of a woman in labor!’

This verse could serve as a divine warning, prompting America to consider its path, leadership, and the repercussions of its actions.

In the USA, the path of the eclipse begins with the town Eagle Pass, combined with the biblical symbolism of the cedar, and Ezekiel’s passage about the eagle calls for reflection.

It suggests a significant moment for America to contemplate its role and destiny in the broader cosmic and divine narrative.

The last town the 2024 Eclipse touches is Presque Isle in Maine. The word Presque means ‘almost or nearly there, ‘ hinting at a sense of nearing a significant point or transition.

Shadows of the Shawnee

Cedar Lake is nestled in the Shawnee National Forest and casts light on a prior 1806 eclipse featuring the Shawnee Indians’ fight to keep their land against the American expansion.

A pivotal moment between Shawnee leader Tecumseh and William Henry Harrison, Indiana Governor and future president. Harrison challenged Tecumseh’s brother, Tenskwatawa, a Shawnee prophet, to prove his divine powers said there would be an eclipse. Tenskwatawa’s eclipse prophecy was fulfilled fifty days later, confirming his authority.

However, the subsequent defeat of the Shawnee at the Battle of Tippecanoe, led by Harrison, diminished Tenskwatawa’s credibility, leading to doubts about his prophetic role. Named the Tecumseh’s eclipse became a symbol of the Shawnee’s forthcoming hardships and decline. Later in 1811, there was an earthquake in this area that many believed the eclipse was a precursor.

Years after these events, Harrison’s brief presidency, cut short by his sudden death, sparked rumors of a curse by Tecumseh.

Now, the eclipse traversing Cedar Lake, in the Shawnee National forest named in homage to the Shawnee, reawakens these narratives of mystery and drama, echoing fears of disaster and societal unrest.

It serves as a reminder of the cyclical nature of history, linking our present to the past through the celestial dance of the eclipses.

Salem

The 2017 solar eclipse started in Salem, Oregon, and crossed six other cities named Salem. Salem, meaning peace and perfection, and is part of Jerusalem’s name.

The eclipse’s timing at sundown in the nation of Israel marked the beginning of Eluln on the Hebrew Calendar, a period of introspection and personal repentance. Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) and the major holidays in this month.

Nineveh

The 2024 eclipse will traverse eight towns named Nineveh, with seven across the continental United States and one in Canada. Nineveh symbolizes repentance, stemming from the Book of Jonah.

In this Biblical Events, the prophet initially disobeys God, reluctant to preach to Nineveh. However, after being shipwrecked and swallowed by a whale, he ultimately delivers his message, leading to Nineveh’s repentance and salvation from disaster.

Remarkably, the 2024 eclipse aligns with the onset of the Hebrew month of Nissan, marking the start of spring and the Passover celebration, with the Jewish exodus from Egypt. Nissan is also linked with miracles.

The connection between Salem, symbolizing peace, and Nineveh, representing repentance, is exemplified by the name Jonah, which means “dove,” a symbol of peace, yet his mission was one of repentance.

The 2024 eclipse forms an ‘X’ over Cedar Lake, located in an area of Southern Illinois known as “Little Egypt,” which intriguingly ties to the month of Nissan.

Transition to Turbulence

In 2017, the eclipse traversed 11 states in the USA, a number often linked to transition and change. Since then, we’ve seen significant transformations globally, with America and the world facing the pandemic’s challenges and political unrest, highlighting the era’s theme of change consistent with the symbolism of the number 11.

Looking ahead, the 2024 eclipse is set to cross 13 states, a number associated with rebellion and lawlessness. This suggests potential themes or shifts that the upcoming celestial event might symbolize, reflecting a period of change and upheaval. Some are predicting civil war in American based on current events and often eclipses are considered a bad omen.

Next, we’ll delve into Biblical numerical analysis of the eclipses because numbers can reveal patterns and truths, allowing us to draw connections to scripture and uncover deeper meanings.

Decoding The Days

The Strong’s Concordance indexes each word in the King James Bible, giving them unique numbers to explore their original Hebrew and Greek meanings.

Between these rare solar eclipses, there are 2,422 days. In Strong’s Greek lexicon, this number is linked to Jephthah, a judge.

The convergence of significant celestial events, such as the Great North American Eclipse and the Devil’s Comet, prompts us and warrior known for a vow which backfired and led to his daughter’s death.

This connects with this decade of Peh, a Hebrew word for the importance of words.

In the Hebrew Strong’s, 2422 refers to “chayeh,” meaning lively or vigorous. Mentioned in Exodus 1:19, where Hebrew midwives report the supernatural strength of Hebrew women giving quick birth, defying Pharaoh’s lethal orders against their sons.

“Chayeh” signifies liveliness, mirroring the cedar’s resilience in Jeremiah 22:23 and hinting at strength in tough times. As the eclipse ends near a place called “almost nearly there,” it signals an impending moment of significance.

Next, we’ll delve into the biblical connections of the number 2422.

24:22 for the Great American Eclipse Bible Verse

Isaiah 24:21-23 predicts a time when the Lord will judge the rulers and dim the sun and moon, showcasing His ultimate power from Zion. This highlights the temporary nature of worldly next to God’s everlasting rule.

Matthew 24:22 conveys divine compassion, showing that God will shorten difficult times for the elect, showing His safeguarding care in turbulent periods.

Proverbs 24:21-22 advise us to Fear God and do not join with rebellious officials because it can bring sudden destruction.

These scriptures emphasize divine judgment and God’s sovereignty, prompting us to reflect and honor His authority.

2+4+2+2=10

Adding up the days between eclipses we get a sum of 10, signifying divine order and judgment. Exemplified by the Ten Commandments.

Yet, the Biblically meaning of 10 represents satanic powers, as seen in the ten horns on the beast in Revelation 17:13.

In Daniel, the ten toes of the statue denote a blend of human and demonic realms marked by division. Daniel 2:41-43 depicts the ten toes of clay and iron Nebuchadnezzar’s statue as embodying a kingdom that is both strong and brittle, showing internal division and disunity.

This reflects Matthew 12:25, where it is said that a kingdom or house divided against itself cannot stand.

The Devil’s comet appearing during the eclipse might present us with the prompts a significant question: ‘Which kingdom will you serve?’

Decoding the Duration from a Biblical point of view

The August 21st 2017 eclipse had 2.42 minutes of the path of totality, whereas the April 8 one will feature 4.28 minutes of total darkness. To uncover any divine insights, we will analyze these numbers and their corresponding scriptures in the Old and New Testament.

The Great American Eclipse Bible Verse Acts 2:42

As stated 2 minutes and 2:42 was the time of total darkness and only one scripture corresponds to the address 2:42, found in Acts 2:42 (ESV):

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

Seems like God wants us to focus on spreading the word in unity, praying and communion. If God is leading us to this verse, it’s important to note that Acts chapter 2 addresses salvation, repentance, and fulfilling Joel’s prophecy about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days, which includes wonders in heaven and signs on the entire world.

Scriptures on 4:28

The April 8, 2024 has total darkness for 4 minutes and 28 minutes so below are five, 4:28 scriptures

1)“And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD with which he had sent him to speak, and all the signs that he had commanded him to do.” Exodus 4:28 ESV

In today’s nations of the world, we can learn from Moses and Aaron’s collaboration, as seen in Exodus 4:28. It emphasizes the importance of unity in spreading the Gospel and discerning God’s signs in the world and our lives.

2)Deuteronomy 4:28 NLT warns, “There, in a foreign land, you will worship idols made from wood and stone—gods that neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.”

It’s thought-provoking to contemplate how readily phones and other modern devices can transform into idols in our lives.

Yet, when we cast distractions aside, we reconnect with God’s presence, echoing the subsequent promise: “But from there you will search again for the LORD your God.And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.” God’s always is waiting for us!

3)Jeremiah 4:28 ESV states, “For this the earth shall mourn, and the heavens above be dark; for I have spoken; I have purposed; I have not relented, nor will I turn back.”

Similar to the present eclipse, this verse vividly portrays a moment when the sky turns dark, highlight a divine message. God has a course all mapped out, and God placed in in this time frame.

Offering a sobering context, Jeremiah 4:27 declares, “The land will be ruined, but not completely destroyed.” When read together, these verses indicate a time of great disruption, but with a hint of optimism that God has a different endgame in mind.

4)Galatians 4:28 NLT affirms, “And you, dear brothers and sisters, are children of the promise, just like Isaac,” reminding us of our spiritual heritage and the promises received through faith.

This scripture emphasizes that we live under grace rather than law. God refers to Abraham’ offspring (me and you) as stars in the sky. This encourages us to “look up” to God and the heavens for the abundant promises and blessings we inherit through faith.

5)Ephesians 4:28 ESV advises, “Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.”

This verse addresses ongoing debates on dependency and self-sufficiency, emphasizing the importance of hard work and giving. This verse suggests a shift from taking to giving, emphasizing the principle that we are stewards of God’s provision, called to share with others in need.

While there are additional Holy scriptures, these mentioned seem to be the most pertinent to the context.

Final Words

In Genesis,1:14 God mentions lights in the heavenly bodies for signs and seasons.

Maybe this astronomical event move us to be like a Jonah, and deliver Jesus Christ’s message of salvation to everyone, even our enemies.

Real transformation comes from knowing Christ, not from politics. Earthly systems may waver, but God never changes.

As this coming total solar eclipse carves its celestial path, for myself, it means to put down my phone and look up to God and love those He places in my path. The next eclipse is in 2044 so it seems we are entering a new twenty year cycle.
