Yael Eckstein, CEO and President of International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, has this to say about passing on traditions from generation to generation,

From Generation to Generation Bible Verses
“Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.” Psalm 145:4
We must teach our children about God’s miracles in the past, but we also need to talk about what God is doing presently in our lives. If we don’t, who will?
Educate your children about the history of your family and how God has revealed himself through your families’ past.
I remember my grandfather telling me about when he was in World War 1. He said that he was mistaken for a spy, and arrested. So, my grandfather prayed for the truth to be revealed. After praying, it was quickly found out his “best friend” was the actual spy, and my grandfather was released.
“Only the living can praise you as I do today. Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.” Isaiah 38:19

In Deuteronomy 6, Moses tells the Israelites to follow all the commandments and to love God with all our heart and soul, teaching all this to the next generation
“Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” Deuteronomy 6:7
In the car, discuss with your children about today’s meaning, perhaps create a no earbud zone. While driving, I’ve had several heartfelt talks with my daughter.
