Spiritual Gifts

According to 1 Cor, 12:8-10, the following are a list of the spiritual gifts: words of wisdom and knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kind and interpretation of tongues.

Promotion

The Lord is promoting individuals outside of the church. Recently, the Lord highlighted the story of Moses and the seventy elders, who received the spirit of prophecy inside the tent. But outside the tent, Eldad and Medad, also received the gift. And likewise, in this season, God is rising fresh prophets with unique perspectives, especially those that feel they’d been on the outside. God is opening new avenues and opportunities to make way for these emerging voices and their unique giftings.

God’s Love Fuels the Prophetic

It’s fascinating, delving into the names of the two accidental prophets. Eldad’s means God has loved, and Medad means loving and affectionate. The names are fitting, it’s paramount knowing you are loving by God when you are steeping out, into any of your giftings. Moreover, I know when I receive God’s unconditional love it’s easier to pour His love to those around me.

Jealous of the Gifts

Some people won’t celebrate your new giftings, when you step out people around you won’t like it. Therefore, even Joshua, asked Moses to forbid Eldad and Medad for prophesying.

Moses asked  “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the LORD would put His Spirit upon them!

Some versions translate zealous as jealous and some people might try to diminish you or what God has given you to steward. Don’t let others derail what God has freely given you. Ask God to place individuals with similar giftings on your path and spiritual leaders that will help you flourish.

Ask For Spiritual Gifts

It’s not wrong to ask for or go after spiritual gifts, besides it’s biblical.

“But earnestly desire the best gifts.”

“Pursue love and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy”

Don’t let the prophetic be intimidating, one doesn’t need to be on the stage to use this gift. The prophetic is needed for all Christians to know what’s ahead, help propel you into your destiny, as well as go through your day and encourage those around you.

Hearing the Lord is Vital

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Hearing from God is the best strategy in winning the battles in your life. Joshua learned this before he conquered Jericho when he was confronted by a fierce angel of the Lord. Their exchange is below

“Are you for us or our enemies?” inquired Joshua.

“No,” replies the Angel, as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.

For years, this Joshua 5:13-14 confused me, why didn’t the angel state he was on Joshua’s side? Finally, it dawned on me, the angel only serves who the Lord tells him to serve. The angel doesn’t judge or pick sides. Just like Jesus stated, “I only do what I see my father doing. ” I need to exchange my own limited opinions for God’s. He is the only one who knows the truth in every situation.

Joshua, understand the Angel’s “no” answer, because he quickly changes his line of questioning to, “What does my Lord say to his servant?” Joshua is ready to hear the Lord’s crazy plan to conquer Jericho, march around the city and on the seventh day the walls will tumble down! (Josh. 6) Sounds far-fetched but it worked. Maybe the Lord is whispering something ridiculous in your ear, that will produce in a breakthrough in your life.

Enemy Tactics

It’s hard to believe that the giants, and the rest of Canaanites were actually terrified of Israelites.

“I know the LORD has given you this land,” she (Rahab) told them. “We are all afraid of you. Everyone in the land is living in terror.”

Here’s the thing, the enemy is terrified of you, and of your giftings. As you walked further into God’s will, the more opposition you will feel. For instance, I am working on my first novel and an e-book and the last couple of weeks have been rocky. I’ve encountered numerous computer problems and delays. Honestly, some days, I feel like giving up, but I continue to persevere, pressing into God’s promises despite the opposition. When the enemy is setting up obstacles, one has to wonder, what’s behind the roadblock?

Finding Truth in Sensory Overload

The harsh reality of the Old Testament, is God ordered Joshua to wipe out the Canaanites. The Gibeonites plotted a plan to avoid being killed off by the Israelites. The Gibeonites wore patched sandals, worn out clothes, carried moldy food and broken wine skins, all designed to trick the Hebrews in thinking they traveled a great distance. At first, the Israelites suspected, asking the Gibeonites,“Perhaps you dwell among us; so how can we make a covenant with?” Josh. 9:7.

“So the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the LORD.

The Israelites trusted what they saw in the natural with their own fleshly eyes, instead of asking the Lord what was happening behind the scenes, spiritually.

Soon after, Joshua discovered the Gibeonites fooled them but it was to late, since they already entered into covenant with them. Unfortunately, we are living in a time of deception and we need the gift of discernment along with seeking God for confirmation and additional insight.

The Lord Fixes Mistakes

Consequently, the other Canaanite nations were angry with the Gibeonites and surrounded their city seeking to slaughter them. Due to the covenant, the Israelites were sworn to protect the Gibeonites. Despite, violating God’s law by entering a treaty with the Gibeonites, the Lord helped the Israelites. Joshua’s mistake turned into one of his finest moments. This is the famous battle where God stopped the sun and even threw down hailstones at the enemy’s army, ensuring the Israelite’s victory.

This victory was the catalyst to conquering a large portion of the promised land. It was Joshua’s destiny to overcome the Canaanites’ and God will help fight for your destiny, even when you make mistakes. We are living under a superior covenant than Joshua, since we are living in the age of Grace. Thank you, Jesus! In the next six weeks the Lord has a spiritual gift with your name written on it,

Prayer

Lord in the name of Jesus, we thank you, for the increase in spiritual gifts. As we navigate through these last five months of 2020, thank you for directing each one of our steps. Thank you, Lord for fighting our battles and even making our mistakes prosper. Holy Spirit, thank you, for divine alignments, encouraging friends and wise spiritual mentors. USA Prophetic Warning for Fall 2020

In America, Pastor Dana prophesied a third wave of turbulence in November for America. The troubling part is Pastor Dana had two dreams in December 2019, about the virus and the riots. When watching Pastor Dana’s video, I admit I was discouraged. So I searched and found Christian leaders Mario Murillo and Lance Wallnau delivering insightful messages regarding Pastor Dana’s video. As a result of these messages, I’ve increased my prayers for America.

  1. Very encouraging, thanks for these words sister.
I am still waiting on promises of God for 30 years now.
Like a wife, fierce attacks from the enemy, literally like in a thriller movie.
I also have moments I have to redraw and repent from synism.
But in all that years, nearly all my family came to the lord, I mentored a few of the most heavy guys from the trash to the university.
If I do not get in this live the promises (hebrews 11), I will at least know that there is waiting a bigger promise behind the veil.
Test are (I believe) in the first to get us to the next schoolyear (read level), to become strong, trained eagles.
But later on, tests become also as a test to see what we choose; do we keep our focus on Him and the eternal promises, or do we get bitter, because He did/does not give the fulfillment of some wishes here on earth..

    1. Congratulations, on being the praying catalyst for your family for coming to Christ. You are right on all accounts, we sow the seeds and if we do not see each and every seed grow may there be a future harvest. I agree some promises seem like forever, but I’ve learned to accept God’s timing. I know when I first became a Christian, I didn’t always accept His timing. But I have learned over the years not to become bitter but so grateful for the promises that have passed. Ultimately we have the best promise in our life, Jesus! “When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.” Eph 1:13 Bless you and thank you for taking the time to comment.
