What does the Bible say about strength in hard times?

The bible has a lot to say about difficult situations and how to face them with strength. Here are a few powerful Bible verses about strength in hard times:

God, Will Strengthen You!

In Isaiah 41:10, it says:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Prayer for Strength During Difficult Times—God Is With You

Lord, in Jesus’ name, Help me not to fear or be discouraged by what I’m going through. Thank you, God, for holding my hand as we walk this out together. Keep giving me confirmation, that You are always with me. I surrender my worries to you and ask that you would give me your strength during this difficult time. Amen.

God, Will Renew Your Strength!

When you are going through struggles, it’s draining, and sometimes you can lose hope and that’s when you need to remember to ask God will renew your strength!

In Isaiah 40:31 it says:

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Prayer for Strength During Difficult Times—Renew Your Strength

Help me trust in Your plan for my life and renew my strength by infusing hope in my heart and mind to not grow weary but to excel in all areas of my life, despite my current struggles. Amen.

God, Will Give You Peace

When you are going through difficult times, the devil wants you to be, but the Lord wants you to be blessed! If you remain in peace, it will strengthen you and you’ll be more equipped to handle whatever it is you’re dealing with.

“The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace.” Psalm 29:11.

Prayer for Strength During Difficult Times—Peace

Father, thank you for giving me strength and peace in the midst of my storm. Lord bless me Your peace while I go through this difficult time in my life. Amen.”

God, Will Help You Find Joy

I know it’s hard to believe, but Joy can be a powerful tool in a time of need.

Nehemiah 8:10 states,

“Do not grieve. The joy of the Lord is your strength.”

The bible says in James 1:2-4,

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

This verse is telling us that even though trials are hard, we should consider them joy because it’s helping us to grow, learn and to be more Christlike. It’s through these trials that we learn how to persevere and become strong. So next time you’re facing a hard time, remember what the bible says about strength and lean on God for a source of strength.

It’s important to know God love us and He isn’t the source of are problems, we live in a fallen world and those around us have free will. Our Gracious God wants to help us and no prayer is too small or too big for God. Our Holy God hears our  simple prayers and sees our heavy heart.

Problems are not stop signs they are guidelines

God will Strengthen Your Heart

When you are going through difficult, give God a chance to move on your behalf. Believe He is good and that He will take care of you. Have faith in His promises and know that He will give you the strength to make it through whatever you are facing.

“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say on the Lord!” Psalm 27:14.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

“Let the weak Say, I am strong.” Joel 3:10

“Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:3-5.

1) Remember, you are never alone. God’s presence is a constant promise for courage and strength:

2) In tumultuous times, God stands as our unshakable refuge and source of strength:

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Psalm 46:1-3

3) Our weaknesses are opportunities for God’s strength to shine through us, reminding us of His sufficiency:

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”2 Corinthians 12:9-10

4) In anxious and uncertain times, prayer brings us the peace of God, surpassing all understanding:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:6-7

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 8:37-39

He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.”Psalm 18:32-36

Practical Ways To Strengthen Yourself During Difficult Times.

1. Begin the day by thanking God for working on your behalf in this situation.

2. Tell God you are trusting Him in this circumstance.

3. When thoughts of this situation bubble up, tell God you are trusting him for the outcome.

4. Each time negative thoughts come, keep repeating, I will think about good things I picture a big stop sign in my head and then I Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Phil 4:8)

5. Make a list of Bible verses that will help you through this time and memorize them or keep them close by to read when you need encouragement.

6. Pray for what you can regarding the situation.

7. Choose one prayer warrior to be your prayer partner during this time, someone who will agree with you in prayer for God’s supernatural strength. Please email me at [email protected] to write a tailor-made prayer for you.

8. Put On Some Worship Music:

Songs can be a significant source of encouragement. When you are feeling down, put on some worship music, and let the words lift your spirits. After David’s baby died, King David Worshiped the Lord. 2 Samuel 12:20.

I enjoy listening to Good Good Father’s song.

9. Read the Psalms

The Psalms are full of hope and comfort. David, who wrote many of the Psalms, was no stranger to difficult times. In the Psalms, he poured out his heart to God, and God met him in his pain. And God will meet you there as well. As you read the Psalms, let them be a prayer for you too by turning the psalms which touch your heart into a personalize prayer.

10. Remember all the times God has helped you in the past, He will help you again!

Final Thoughts

When you are going through difficult times, God is with you. He will never leave or forsake you. You can trust Him to work on your behalf even when you don’t see how things could possibly work out. So hold on to His promises and let Him strengthen you for the journey ahead.
