Nehemiah 8:10 states,
“Do not grieve. The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
The bible says in James 1:2-4,
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
This verse is telling us that even though trials are hard, we should consider them joy because it’s helping us to grow, learn and to be more Christlike. It’s through these trials that we learn how to persevere and become strong. So next time you’re facing a hard time, remember what the bible says about strength and lean on God for a source of strength.
It’s important to know God love us and He isn’t the source of are problems, we live in a fallen world and those around us have free will. Our Gracious God wants to help us and no prayer is too small or too big for God. Our Holy God hears our simple prayers and sees our heavy heart.

A Prayer for Strength During Difficult Times For Family
Heavenly Father, we come to You today lifting up our family members who are going through a tough time. We ask You would give them strength for the journey ahead. Please provide for their every need and bless them in every way. May they know Your presence and peace in the midst of their storm. In Jesus’ name we pray.
When you are going through stressful times here’s 10 ways to help you feel God’s presence
1) Remember, you are never alone. God’s presence is a constant promise for courage and strength:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
2) In tumultuous times, God stands as our unshakable refuge and source of strength:
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Psalm 46:1-3
3) Our weaknesses are opportunities for God’s strength to shine through us, reminding us of His sufficiency:
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”2 Corinthians 12:9-10
4) In anxious and uncertain times, prayer brings us the peace of God, surpassing all understanding:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:6-7
5) Cast your worries on God, for His care and love for you are endless:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”1 Peter 5:7
6)In moments of oppression and trouble, find your sanctuary in the Lord’s unfailing trust and protection:
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”Psalm 9:9-10
7) Through every challenge – waters, fires, or trials – God promises His unwavering presence and protection:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”Isaiah 43:2
8) In the love of Christ, we find the power to overcome any and all adversities, assured that nothing can separate us from His love:
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 8:37-39
9) God equips us with strength and makes our paths secure, even in the most daunting circumstances:
“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.”Psalm 18:32-36
10) In times of distress and heartache, God is especially close, ready to rescue and heal the brokenhearted:
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”Psalm 34:17-18

3. When thoughts of this situation bubble up, tell God you are trusting him for the outcome.
4. Each time negative thoughts come, keep repeating, I will think about good things I picture a big stop sign in my head and then I Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Phil 4:8)

Songs can be a significant source of encouragement. When you are feeling down, put on some worship music, and let the words lift your spirits. After David’s baby died, King David Worshiped the Lord. 2 Samuel 12:20.
I enjoy listening to Good Good Father’s song.
9. Read the Psalms
The Psalms are full of hope and comfort. David, who wrote many of the Psalms, was no stranger to difficult times. In the Psalms, he poured out his heart to God, and God met him in his pain. And God will meet you there as well. As you read the Psalms, let them be a prayer for you too by turning the psalms which touch your heart into a personalize prayer.
